You May Dream in Vernon

📍 Okanagan Regional Library, Vernon (2800 30th Ave)
📅 April 2, 2025 – 6:30 PM

Artists and dreamers – get involved in an international project inspired by the imagination of writer Karl May!

Join us for a lively presentation of the Try Walking in May Shoes project – a creative collaboration between artists from Canada, Germany, and the Czech Republic. Through short videos and shared stories, we’ll dive into the unique cross-border region of the Ore Mountains, including the Ústí nad Labem region and the Chemnitz area. Once shaped by mining and communist totalitarianism, this area is now undergoing a cultural revival powered by the arts.

We’ll also share how you can become part of this transatlantic artistic exchange.

This project is part of the official program of Chemnitz – European Capital of Culture 2025. Presenting will be Tereza Koranda Dvořáková and Miroslav Koranda from the Czech Republic, who will be staying in Okanagan until the end of July to collaborate with local creatives.

The presentation will last no more than 50 minutes, followed by space for questions and discussion.
Free entry.

With gratitude to Destanne Norris, Calvin White, Ziyba Ibragimova,  Jacquie Sharpe, the Vernon Library, and all our project partners for their support.

No registration is required, but letting us know you're coming via the form below will help us with preparations.
