Why are Germany, Canada, and the Czech Republic part of this project?

When asking why so many German tourists visit BC, local canadian newspapers often mention the romantic, but not particularly accurate, image of North America's wilderness created by the writer Karl May. Now, 150 years later, the situation reverses.

Artists from BC will create new May-like heroes and their worlds for the Chemnitz, endorsed with prestigious European Capital of culture title for 2025 - canadian creatives from story tellers to film makers will be inspired by the stories we are collecting from this German-Czech border region.

This aligns with the "C the Unseen" motto covering Chemnitz 2025 activities, bringing new narratives and imagination to areas outside traditional cultural centers. The project also provides a safe space for discussing various social topics, as cultural appropriation, radicalization of voters etc.

Lets have fun, be imaginative and explore serious themes.
