Raj Jain

Raj is an artist based in Kelowna, British Columbia. Using watercolours, ink paintings and films, he explores the connections between people and places. His sketches of cities capture themes of diversity, loneliness and social differences. They are inspired by his personal life and travels across 22 countries.

Raj uses traditional and digital tools to tell compelling social stories about identity, resilience and self-discovery. These stories highlight underrepresented voices. His narrative and documentary films have been screened at festivals in North America and South Asia.

His work is currently on display in the Okanagan Valley and he has other projects in the pipeline in Pitt Meadows. For KruÅ¡nohoří, he adapted the story of Jiří Hromada: an actor, voice artist and human rights activist who grew up in Jirkov and is now president of the Actors’ Association.
