Bree Apperley is an artist, designer and writer based in Kelowna. She has exhibited in galleries in New York, Vancouver and Toronto, as well as in various locations in British Columbia, Berlin and Margate in England.
In her work, she combines the ancient arts of lace-making and knitting with new materials. In this way, she connects the past with the present, opening up new possibilities for textile structures and prints.
She showcases applied and domestic art, predominantly created by women in their homes, and reimagines it in gallery spaces. Her work for the Ore Mountains also celebrates female independence through art.
