DESCRIPTION:Exhibition opening.\nKilan s.r.o. is an authors‘ collective based at the Photography Studio of the Faculty of Arts and Design at Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem. The collective works with photography and text, combining them into desk calendars – a medium that straddles the line between image, publication and everyday tool. The calendar is not just „merchandise“ or graphic fiction, but a lifeline for anyone who feels lost in their imagination. Repetition creates a strange type of reality in which absurdity can be interpreted as a message, a clue or a personal oracle.\nAfterparty: DJ´s: LöLu\nKilan’s method thus plays with the historical ‚imagination factory‘, breaking down established patterns to allow new ones to emerge. Absurdity takes on its own form, and the landscape of the Ore Mountains, along with the historical context and traces of Karl May, takes on a monstrous quality.
